ABOUT

Having just moved to Glasgow, Sophie has been a London based yoga teacher for many years, teaching a range of styles across many of the leading studios. A trained actor, she originally came to the practice for the physical benefits but quickly discovered the immense possibilities it offers for our whole being. Sophie teaches uplifting and dynamic classes with a grounding in the philosophy of yoga, and an emphasis on openness, acceptance and compassion.

My biggest commitment as a yoga teacher is to create space for every body, to empower and hold and allow, and to teach in a way that encourages and facilitates every single student in turning towards themselves with compassion and exploring their body in whatever way they need.  I lead a class in an engaging, inclusive and very clear way. I often offer advanced variations (when appropriate) but ensure I carefully cue the posture and give a wide variety of options so every student has the opportunity to explore and play. I also love to connect with my students and create a safe, community space. Through years of movement, gymnastics coaching, actor training and yoga teaching I have a great awareness of the physical body, of the differences in each body and the care that needs to be taken of it. I like to add a sense of fun and playfulness in my teaching, and facilitate space for joy and play, to explore and challenge the body in a light hearted environment. Whilst honouring the practice, I encourage students not to take it too seriously, and will often throw in bad jokes and silliness and I love a vibey, fun playlist.
